Shannon Moroney - Forgiveness Is The New “F” Word

“My deep exploration of forgiveness began in a prison centre with me on one side of the glass and my husband at the time, Jason, on the other.”

After the traumatizing public experience of her first husband’s conviction as a sex offender, Shannon thought she’d never feel joy or be whole again. In the years that followed, she learned that forgiveness isn’t always a one-time event—it is also an on-going process.

Today, 16 years after her life completely shattered, Shannon now works as a registered social worker, therapist, and advocate to support clients in achieving post-traumatic growth. Currently, she helps provide life-saving trauma therapy to dozens of survivors of accused serial rapist and sex trafficker, Peter Nygard.

This hope-filled conversation with Shannon reveals the powerful connection between resilience and forgiveness, reminding us of the hope, peace, and freedom waiting for us on the other side.
