Melanie Vogels - There Is Always A Way

Growing up in small town on Vancouver Island, all Melanie wanted to do was play soccer. She had the skill, the passion, the tenacity. There was only one problem—she wasn’t allowed to play on the boys’ soccer team.

By the age of 10, Melanie became an advocate for equal opportunity in soccer. She fought hard to play the sport she loved—and won.

After years of honing her skills, she was invited to play on the national women’s soccer team. But on her way to her first game, Melanie was involved in a major car accident, preventing her from pursuing her dream.

In this episode, Cindy and Melanie explore what it’s like to spend your life working toward something that vanishes in a moment. Melanie’s message is one of hope: that even when life takes a sudden turn, there’s always a way through.
